Our Story
Making all kitchens stronger for nearly 70 years.
What started as one man and a truck in 1956 has grown into San Diego's trusted source for premium produce, beverages, and desserts — still family-run, still delivering quality every morning.
Started with one truck and the outskirt hills of San Diego
Larry Coy was a peddler produce distributor. In 1956, he started hauling fresh produce to kitchens in the outskirt hills of San Diego with a single truck and a handshake.
In 1992, Tom and Lucy purchased Coy's and spent the next three decades building it into the operation it is today — growing the customer base, deepening grower relationships, and earning a reputation for consistency that kitchens depend on.
Brandon acquired the company and brought distribution expertise, new vendors, and an expanded catalog that now includes beverages and desserts alongside premium produce. Tom and Lucy remain a core part of daily operations and culture — their produce knowledge paired with Brandon's growth vision is why Coy's is scaling faster than ever.

San Diego's
top kitchens
What we commit to every kitchen, every day
These aren't slogans — they're the operational standards we hold ourselves to on every delivery, every morning.
Quality you can taste
Hand-selected from growers we trust. Same product, same standard, every order.
Relationships over transactions
Named reps, not ticket systems. We know your kitchen's needs because we've been serving them for years.
Flexibility as a feature
Same-day orders, custom prep, adjusted volume. Your kitchen changes — we keep up.
Consistent, every time
No surprises, no unapproved substitutions. Dependable is the whole point.
The people behind your delivery
Not a call center. Not a ticket system. Real people who know your kitchen by name.
